SIDNEY, MT, June 5, 2008 – On June 3, the Foundation for Community Care wrapped up its 15th annual May-ke A Pledge campaign with Sidney Health Center employees, EMT’s Board members, doctors’ offices and other affiliates. This year’s theme was the summer Olympics with the slogan “Giving is Winning for Future Healthcare,” and Sidney Health Center was alive with the Olympic spirit when the campaign surpassed its ambitious $45,000 goal with a total of $57,624 in pledges and gifts from 319 Healthcare Champions.
“We are pleased to receive such enthusiastic support for this year’s May-ke A Pledge campaign and want to thank every person who contributed,” said Leona Colvin, Foundation Executive Director. “With this kind of support for our Endowment Fund, we can help fund healthcare and medical projects that will touch virtually every person in Sidney Health Center’s service area.”
Every dollar pledged during the month long campaign filled with games, prizes and a closing ceremony, is added to the Foundation’s Endowment Fund. Each May, the Foundation’s Board of Directors distributes some of the earnings from the Endowment Fund in the form of grants to area healthcare needs, this year $198,783 was awarded. Events like May-ke A Pledge help grow the Endowment Fund so that more funds can be granted each year.
We would like to thank these area businesses for donating prizes to the May-ke A Pledge Campaign: Fink Dental Clinic, 1st Bank, Fort Peck Fine Arts Council, HealthWorks , Journey’s By Jan, Kleen Auto Detailing, Mark Anthony and Company, Richland County Fair and Rodeo, Richland Federal Credit Union, Sidney Greenhouse, Sidney Health Center, Sidney Heath Center MedSpa, Sidney High School, The Popcorn Factory, Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, Wells Fargo, Wild West Diner, Venaz Digit Designz & Yellowstone Yarns.
