Sidney Health Center and the Foundation for Community Care Break Ground on Transformative Healthcare Expansion
May 12, 2025

Sidney Health Center and the Foundation for Community Care are proud to announce the groundbreaking of a new, state-of-the-art Labor and Delivery Unit, marking a milestone in their commitment to expanding and modernizing healthcare in eastern Montana. This initiative is a key component of the $12.3 million Campaign for Sidney Health Center, a transformative investment designed to elevate patient care, expand critical services, and enhance the future of healthcare access for the region.

The new Labor and Delivery Unit, a central focus of this campaign, will feature six private suites designed to accommodate labor, delivery, and recovery in one space—reducing patient transfers and enhancing comfort, safety, and privacy. The project also includes a modernized nursery and the co-location of the Women’s Health Clinic with Labor and Delivery, creating a seamless and comprehensive care experience for mothers and newborns. The 11,825-square-foot facility is scheduled for completion by April 2027, with Corland Construction leading the efforts.

Beyond maternity care, the Campaign for Sidney Health Center is investing in two additional priorities:

  • Expanded Patient Services & Specialty Care – The renovation of the Professional Building, conveniently located adjacent to the hospital, will create a dedicated space for pediatrics, specialty clinics, and the Nursing Residency/Education Program, ensuring long-term workforce development and improved patient care.
  • Advancing Local Cancer Treatment – Enhancements to Sidney Health Center’s Cancer Care Center include expanded infusion services and the installation of a permanent PET scanner, ensuring local access to advanced diagnostic tools and cancer treatments.

“With this groundbreaking, we are making a significant investment in women’s health by upgrading our Labor and Delivery unit,” said Jennifer Doty, CEO of Sidney Health Center. “The Campaign for Sidney Health Center is about more than just new buildings – it’s about delivering exceptional care for generations to come. From welcoming new life into our community to providing life-saving cancer treatments close to home, we are committed to becoming a rural center of excellence for the MonDak region.”

To date, $10.1 million has been secured for this initiative. As construction begins, Sidney Health Center and the Foundation for Community Care invite the community to join in supporting this transformational effort. Every contribution brings the vision of enhanced, sustainable rural healthcare closer to reality.

“This is an investment in the future of our families and neighbors,” said Melissa Boyer, Director of the Foundation for Community Care. “We encourage individuals, businesses, and organizations to be a part of this once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in our region.”
